I'm Jaakko — an elopement photographer working across Norway and Scandinavia. After 300+ couples from 22 countries, I'm finally putting the things I've learned into products others can use.
I've spent a decade finding my style. Even though my style is always evolving, this is the cinematic look I keep coming back to.
You know your work is already good, but you just can't get the look?
Oh friend, I've been there, too! I bought numerous presets, but most of the time, I knew pretty soon I'd wasted my money.
When you're buying presets, you try to get a similar look to the one who is selling them. But in reality, most photographers are selling 10 different looks, which is fine, but I bet they aren't even using them themselves. And when you have that many options, I'm sure it's because the presets won't work in different light situations.
I believe that when you have too many options, learning how to use the presets takes too much time.
That's why I created these presets in the beginning. Not for you, but for me. I wanted to have presets that are almost always a one-click solution. That you can underexpose a photo when shooting and then just click the preset and you're 99% where you wanted.

One base preset means you always get a consistent look. Modifiers work for different light conditions and looks so you can make it your own.

Cinematic & Natural skin tones in the Nordic countries
Most presets are made for California light. These were built here – in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Tromsø, and Lapland - in the light I actually shoot in.

Different light conditions
While I've used the presets in Helsinki archipelago and Copenhagen courtyards, they are made for overcast fjords, snowy forests & midnight sun.
Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC, Lightroom Mobile, and Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop — version 2018 and newer. The files are .xmp format.

Which Lightroom versions are supported?
Technically yes, but I don't recommend it. Presets are made for RAW files, where you have full control over white balance and color.

Do they work on JPEGs?
Yes. These work with RAW files from any modern camera — Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Leica, anything that shoots RAW. I shoot mainly with Canon & Fujifilm.

Will these work with my camera?

Buy the presets
The PDF walks you through it for both desktop and mobile, but the short version: import the .xmp files through Lightroom's Develop module. Takes a couple of minutes.

How do I install them?
Not really. The base preset is almost a one-click solution most of the time, and the video shows you exactly how I use these on real photos. If you're new to Lightroom, you'll see how to get started.

Do I need to know how to edit?
Three things: 1) .xmp preset files (the full Nordic Light system + modifiers)
2) A video where I walk you through how I edit, step by step, on real photos
