Tromso elopement experience

4.-8. of September 2023

Tromsø, located in the far reaches of Northern Norway, is a perfect example of everything I love about the north. Despite being a vibrant and accessible city, the wild, untamed beauty of the north is just a few minutes' drive away.

Just outside the city, you get to see nature from a different perspective. It's a great place for those who love adventures. The beautiful Northern Lights and the towering mountains create unforgettable memories.

What makes Tromsø unique is how it enables you to truly connect with the moment, making it an ideal place for an elopement. Here, in this peaceful and beautiful place, you can easily focus on each other and the promises you make. Tromsø invites you to be fully present, celebrating your love amidst the landscapes that seem to stand still in time.

Are you ready to make your elopement the adventure of a lifetime?

Tromsø rests in the midst of the Arctic's untamed landscape, encircled by majestic mountains and quiet fjords

To ensure your experience will be the best possible, every destination will have limited availability of two elopement experiences.

This limited availability allows multi-day experiences and backup plans if needed. And most importantly, it ensures we have time to connect with each other.

During this season, as summer begins to gently give way to autumn, Tromsø becomes a particularly magical place. Nature is in a state of vibrant transition, presenting a unique blend of the verdant life of summer and the rich hues of autumn.

Early September is the perfect time to experience the Northern North. The daylight hours are still generous, providing ample time for exploring and activities. Yet the evenings start to cool and lengthen, opening the possibility for witnessing the Northern Lights, a phenomenon that leaves a long-lasting impression.

Moreover, the changing landscape is truly a sight to behold. The trees start to don their autumn attire, with leaves turning various shades of yellow, orange, and red. Autumn colors form the perfect setting for your special day. Lastly, this period is slightly off-peak for tourism, which means popular locations are less crowded, making your elopement experience more private and intimate. All these elements combined make early September in Tromsø the perfect time to celebrate your love.

The perfect time to elope in Tromsø

The best time to experience Tromsø

Week 35, from September 4th to 8th, 2023.

Imagine driving the curvy roads of Norway, hiking off the beaten paths, enjoying the whale safaris or taking a ferry to a secluded island. You have a lot of possibilities to make this once-in-a-lifetime experience where the focus is in the moments between the two of you.

While I'm photographing your story, I'll give you space to enjoy the intimacy, but I can equally be your guide and a helping friend whenever you need to.

I share my imperfections and insecurities intentionally, believing it encourages you to embrace your own unique qualities. Recognizing these not as flaws, but as elements that make you perfect for each other. This way you can show up as the best version of yourself on your elopement day. To be 100% yourself, present and in the moment. In front of each other and the camera, you're free to experience the quiet moments, the peace, the calm, the reflection, and intimacy that come from being authentically you.

The days before or after the ceremony

Hiking to the ceremony spot feels so amazing because it isn't just a hike. It's more like a spiritual journey because after it you've promised to be there for each other. At the ceremony spot, you feel one with the nature. The sun starts to peak between the clouds and even though summer has slowly started to fade away, the warmth of the sun makes you smile even more.

There's just the two of you at the ceremony spot looking down in the valley. You've written some special words to each other and even though your voice is a bit shaky, you already know this was the perfect way to honour your love. You don't need to worry about anything or anyone else. You can just be in the moment like nothing else exists.

The ceremony experience

Imagine waking up in your comfy cabin in the middle of the magnificent fjords. After peeking the beautiful raw nature between the curtains, you can't wait to get outside and breath in the clean, crisp nordic air.

After enjoying the Scandinavian breakfast together, you get ready in separate rooms, and the excitement starts to feel in your chest. I arrived a bit earlier to catch you some memories of the surroundings but also to take some photos of your excitement. It's getting a bit brighter when you step outside for your first look, but you can still see the mist above the water next to your cabin.

After I have helped you to find the perfect spot for your first look, I'll fade into the background so you can have all the feelings privately while I'm still making sure you'll have the memories to hold onto.

Here is an example of how all this could feel:

Doing things for the experience

Even if you legalize your marriage in your home country, your anniversary does not have to be on that date. You can have your marriage license signed in a courthouse in your home state / city and then have a once-in-a-lifetime elopement in Norway.

Legalizing your marriage before the elopement

The most significant benefit of a symbolic ceremony is that it allows you to have your elopement ceremony wherever you want. Also, you can modify it in a way that there's only you two and your vows or someone (a hired officiant, a friend, or a family member) who is making the whole process more unique for you. In my experience, the most authentic moments during the ceremonies often only involve the couple getting married.

Should we have a symbolic ceremony instead?

Non-residents can legally marry in Norway if they complete the required paperwork.

You can get married wherever you want, but you must first follow all regulations set out by the Norwegian Tax Administration. While straightforward, it can be slightly confusing if you’re unfamiliar with Norwegian systems. Don't worry, I'll help with the process if you want, but I would highly recommend the symbolic ceremony for the best experience.
