I photograph weddings for people who want to honour their love through a meaningful experience and memories that last for a lifetime.
Your wedding is not a photoshoot. Instead, it should be about you and what connects you. A celebration of your relationship, planned around your love for one another. It's the way I wanted to get married with my wife but didn't know back then.
What counts are the moments. And the memories of moments. To me as a photographer, your experience of a shoot is so much more important than a photo.

My Approach: I believe A photo will only feel real if the moment was real.
From start to finish Jaakko helped us every step of the way - from providing his ideas, guidance, and expertise for locations, logistics, how to really get into the mood/vibe for the day, to even researching and reaching out to vendors where we had difficulties (navigating Google in a foreign language was an obstacle).
Most of all, though, he brought such a genuine attitude and vibe, almost like we were old friends reconnecting after a long while. We really did feel at ease and comfortable, and without that, there’s no way we would have had such an amazing experience.

How couples felt about their wedding
I'm an elopement photographer, avid orienteer, trail runner, husband, and father of two. My love for the outdoors started when I was seven, navigating forests with just a map—exciting and a little scary!
My childhood was full of Norwegian term friluftsliv, meaning I spend my summers playing in nature, or traveling to orienteering competitions all around Scandinavia. A day spend in nature, with or without exercise, is a day well-spend, if you ask me.
Now, almost 30 years later, I know how to adapt when Lofoten's weather turns. I'm looking for opportunities to connect with couples who share the same love for adventure, nature, and the feeling of freedom that comes with intimate weddings.

Why Should You Get married in Lofoten?
Why choose Lofoten?
1. Lofoten is incredibly unique but can be still secluded
Sure, some of the most beautiful places here, like Kvalvika Beach or Reinebringen, might be very crowded for a few months during the year, but there are also mountaintops where you can spend the whole day and night without anyone else.
The mountains aren't that high, but they are steep! The good thing is that if you hike for 20-30 minutes, you get some fantastic views, which is pretty unbelievable. And because you're at sea level, you don't get tired similarly when hiking at high altitudes.
There’s something strikingly different about those harder-to-reach rural places. Places where the landscape has been the same for centuries. Getting somewhere quickly doesn’t matter when the journey itself is worth it, not the destination. Life itself feels more honest and genuine.
I firmly believe that if you want to truly feel present, there’s no better place than Lofoten. Places like Vestvågøy or Møysalen are completely at the mercy of the elements. There, nature’s force sets the rhythm, and we humans are only a tiny piece of it all.
And to me, it’s this indescribable focus on the things that really matter that makes these places in the north the ideal location for your wedding.
2. It's easier to be present for each other:
Because Lofoten is in the north, you can most likely experience the nightless night during the summer, which is UNBELIEVABLE even for me, who has been living above the Arctic Circle!
If you haven’t seen the midnight sun in the Lofoten islands, I promise you it will blow your mind. It’s like you’re having ean ndless sunset for six hours. You just don't want to sleep!
Or if you've been dreaming of seeing the Northern lights, there's no better place! Btw. the best time for the Nothern lights is September and March (even if they try to convince you otherwise).

Some may desire the predictability of a clear sunny day, but in my experience, Lofoten's unpredictable weather crafts the most memorable stories.
A sudden drizzle, a gust of chilly wind, or a looming cloud—each adds a touch of rawness and authenticity to your fjord wedding.
This is why I think there's beauty in embracing what the day brings. It's nature's way of reminding us that true love isn't about perfection but thriving in every circumstance.
